Perfect World International video review
Hi. If you're looking for a new game to try, then watch this HD review video for Perfect World International.
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=PYSONN7_9wA
I tried this game some time ago, but personally got put off by the vastness, complexity of character development and level grinding, as well as finding the lower levels boring, but this review has made me think of giving it another go once I have it downloaded again (2.4 Gb download, ouch ).
The game is truly free to play, and the optional cash shop is unique that the purchasable items have no expiration and can be traded for ingame currency (E.G, buy an experience scroll for yourself and then sell it for gold when you're done with it, or simply spend no money at all and buy cash shop items from other players who are willing to buy them and sell them to you for ingame currency). This means that you can enjoy everything in the game including cash shop items for free 100% by using ingame currency, or if you choose to, buy items and sell them to others to make more ingame gold.
Both the gameplay and graphics are beyond what any other free to play MMO has accomplished in the past, and unlike in Guild Wars which you pay for the game and then play for free, Perfect World is free to download as well, so you can at least try the full game without spending any money at all and see if you like it or not.
BTW, I <3 Winged Elf Clerics:

Oh yea, I forgot the games website. It can be downloaded for free, or purchased on DVD for just $5 for the cost of the DVD and shipping charge:

I have, they mostly have sucky graphics compared to Perfect World. This isnt just my opinion, but also that of people playing the game.
I challenge you to find me a free to play MMO that has better graphics then Perfect World. TBH, I found Maple Story to have better gameplay, but the long time it takes to level, and literally being forced to buy 2x EXP scrolls put me off in the long run.
But I have not played any 100% free games that are anywhere as good as this one. If there are some, them please tell me about them so I can try them. I also find character development in Perfect World to be more complex then it was in WoW and Lotro, enough to the point that I found myself dumfounded trying to understand the whole sytem of abilities and attributes, and trying to play my character ahead.

All too easy.
http://ge.iahgames.com/Site/Default.aspx
Also, the opinion of the 11 million-ish players subscribing to WoW is that WoW is a great game. Does that make WoW a great game? No, it's their opinion. Do the opinions of Perfect World players mean Perfect World is a graphically superior F2P MMO?
Clearly not.

I dont go by the opinions of the players, I go by what I think after playing te game, plus the opinions of reviews.
Granado Espado has been awarded a score of 4, and a verdict of poor by Gamespot:
http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/swordo...result;title;0
Whereas Perfect World was given a score of 8.5 and a verdict of great:
http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/perfec...html?id=544854
The reviews are the things stating Perfect World to be the current best F2P MMORPG, not just the people playing it.

Actually, GameSpot doesn't have a score for PWI. If you'd actually look closely at the page you linked, you'd see the big "N/A" where a score should be. Your shiny "8.5" is a USER REVIEW SCORE. I never said GE was a good game (way to go, switching from graphics to gameplay when your challenge was met, too; smooth move there). I just said it had better graphics than PWI, which it does, according to the opinions of the players and reviewers (which of course means it is a fact and is therefore the best looking F2P MMO ever amirite).
And uh, by the way, a review is just an opinion of a player who decided to write something up about the game out of boredom or for profit. So you can't go by the opinions of reviews and not by the opinions of players. Doesn't work like that, unless you are reading reviews written or recorded by people who have no idea what they are talking about because they haven't invested more than an hour into the game they are "reviewing".
I can see you LOVE review scores, so I'll toss you a couple more links. You know, just because.
http://pc.ign.com/objects/856/856741.html
http://pc.ign.com/objects/879/879263.html
Again, GE has a score, and while it isn't an amazing one, it's still a bit better than the big fat "N/A" that PWI is currently sitting on.
http://www.metacritic.com/games/plat...anado%20Espada
Unfortunately, MetaCritic doesn't seem to even have an entry for PWI, thus once again putting GE ahead because it has actually been officially reviewed.
http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/937956.asp
http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/944613.asp
I do believe I am beginning to see a trend here...!
So yeah. The reviews say whatnow?

Ok Faer, you found 1 F2P game which may be better then what I stated about Perfect World. That still doesnt make up the 'very many' that you indicated in your first post, it means there is just one free to play MMO out there that I didnt know about that may or may not be better then Perfect World, it is, as you say, based on personal opinion, not fact.
Granado Espada was also initially released as a pay to play game, it wasnt initially free, unlike Perfect World which was free to play as soon as it was made available to the public. Therefore comparing a game which was only made free because it failed at a subscription model to one which was intended to be free all along is rather unfair, as the former would have been given a larger production budget to put into creating better graphics, whereas a game intented to be free from the start would have been created on a much lower budget.
Lets make the comparison to games which were both developed, and released as free to play, rather then a game which is only free because it failed as a pay to play, as that is a much fairer comparison. In that situation, I would be pretty sure that Perfect World would come out on top, and that my initial statement of 'Both the gameplay and graphics are beyond what any other free to play MMO has accomplished in the past' would remain true since Granado Espada wasn't actually designed as a free to play MMO.
The comparison between the two is the same as saying, for example, if Age of Conan became free to play, that would make it comparable to games which were developed as free to play on probably 1/10th or less of the budget that AoC cost to make.

PWI has areas where you need to have a tank (and not the disposable type such as GW's minions. <3) where as in GE, (AFAIK) you can just sit your team of 3 somewhere and let them afk grind levels.
GE +1

Honestly , both GE and PWI suck. Played GE and the only positive thing I found are how the classes look. Battles are done pretty bad.
About PWI , downloaded and started installing and then I saw some screenies- canceled the install immediately, 'nuff said.
But they are both free to play so knock yourself out.

Yea, that's the point exactly. I dont want to pay fees to play anything, maybe except for Aion once it gets released, but I havnt ever been able to get into any pay to play MMO so far to the point that I actually want to pay to play the game every month.
With the F2P games, I can play them a few weeks at a time, then change to something else, and return to them whenever I like, which is how I play all my games. TBH, I hardly ever even play a game for a full month at a time, so if I bought a month subscription for a P2P game, I would play it for a week or two, and then be bored and not get my moneys worth. I dont really enjoy playing when I feel like I have to play because I have paid for it, otherwise I am wasting my money. Also, I have never had any desire to play and P2P MMO for more then a few months, so paying for any longer just to be able able to log in, run around, and not get any enjoyment is pointless.

Both games are crap. Always have been, always will be. Both are free to play in the present (which is ALL THAT MATTERS) and one happens to look better than the other.

I actually played PW (Malaysia) for a few months and I thought it was ok... but after a while the grind got way too lengthy and boring. For example a quest would say: kill 100 of [insert name] =_=... Though I think the main reason why I actually played for so long was because I was playing with friends. It reminds me of silkroad... without the flying.

I played PWI for a couple of months and after level 30 or so you have to rely on a repeatable quest/grinding to level there after. On top of this if you want to be successful in the endgame you will end up spending A LOT of money in the item mall, much more than you would end up spending monthly to play a traditional MMO.
The graphics ARE gorgeous, and the world is so purrrrrrdy, the community is also really good. The problem is that it convinces you it's solo friendly at first, but after while it's hard to solo anything unless you're a Venomancer (the pet class) or have a lot of gold to spend pimping your character.
Overall I'd still give the game a decent score because it's generally the community that keeps people tugging along, and this game has a far superior community than that of WoW, Guild Wars, EvE, or Lineage2. I played on a carebear server, after playing Lineage 2 I never want to be a part of world PvP again.
There's no such thing as a truly free MMO, take it from someone who has likely tried every free MMO that is out now, and has been trying them for a long time. It says free, and you can play for free, but after you're hooked they dangle those spiffy items in front of your face that require real money.
I have not played in a while, but take the dye for example, it costs real money to buy dye... Here's the catch, the color is random. Or the charms that are almost necessary to solo at higher levels, they heal you and restore mana after it drops to a certain point, and they are about 75 cents each(they last for about an hour or so of grinding).
EDIT: Don't get me wrong, the game is good... And it's much more enjoyable than other free MMOs. It's just not as perfect as the name makes it sound.

Well I have been playing for a couple of weeks. Have a character up to about mid level, playing mostly co-op style with a GW freind. It is a bit grindy I guess.
But we have met quite a few fun people in game, which is good since we are getting to the stage where we need to join a squad, to kill the high level bosses and mobs.
It is always busy, with lots of chat to guffaw at. It also has things you don't see in GW, for those that want them. You can duel, or play in PK mode...you can have faction territory wars, marriages, superfast mounts etc etc.
I have lots of interesting things to look forward to from what I have been told, but I don't HAVE to spend real cash at all, to get things necessary to play effectively.
I would recommend anyone to try it.....then decide for yourself if it is your thing. If you do want to try it, I have a referral code which I would appreciate you using. (Hope this doesn't break any rules).

perfect world would be perfect if the client download time is not 5 days 13 hours 25 minutes :P~ also if I don't have to give them any "sensitive" information like Passport numbers and hand phone number lol, wtf is that...

Try the torrent download, pumpkin. In my experiences they have a download cap or something on the direct download. The torrent however will probably go much faster after a minute or two.
